This coming Labor Day weekend, as we have done the last two Labor Days, Andy and I will be walking the dry grassy fields of Portland International Raceway ooing and awing over British cars. The new twist for this years adventure is that I will finally be breaking down and showing my car. I never had the courage to show my Discovery, as it was just your run-of-the-mill soccer mom vehicle. But now that we have the zippy, slick new MINI Clubman, “it must be shown”--as Andy would say. So the preparations are underway: bathing the cars, vacuuming every crevices, applying coat after coat of wax and polishing coat after coat of wax. Thank goodness Andy loves that stuff--I help a bit, I do the vacuuming. So keep a look out because, soon there will be a new photo album labeled, “ABFM ’08.”
